Truth. This is my experience talking here. It has always been that way for me and most of the people I know who look for the new path. Not everyone looks for a new path. Some bemoan their bad luck at having the door closed on them and never recover. You may know some people like that. A case in point. It has come to my attention that another company has bought a program that I use intermittently but really like. You may know it, Audacity, it's a sound editing platform that's free. The company that bought it has added spyware into the program, and the Internet doesn't like it. Nor do I, so I spent some time searching for an alternative. While I found several alternatives, they were not quite what I was searching for until I found this. https://github.com/AudMonkey/AudMonkey/releases. AudMonkey is Audacity without the spyware and is easy to install for all of us. A simple exercise, but there will be many people who don't take the time to search for a replacement. They'll just complain and perhaps buy something else that crops up in their F.B. feed. Too simple? OK, what about the time I got fired from being a Jackaroo? I moved to the city, applied for three jobs in the first week and got offered 2 of them. It turned out that the one I accepted I was really good at and worked in that field for 20+ years. If I had stayed in the country town where I grew up and started the Jackaroo position, I would never have found that other career. I could keep going, but I won't. I'm sure you get the idea. The only constant in life is change, embrace it and move with it.
He's wrong, of course, but I'm not yet prepared to show him the proof. I want to really rub his nose in it with a huge purchase. I have told him what I'm doing, but he doesn't seem to be listening.
