I'm talking potato chips not crisps, but there would be even more fries.

A gentleman by the name of Joseph B Swan was a potato grower who, in an attempt to ramp up sales, managed to fake a massive potato.

He had the help of the editor of the local paper and some smart photography. 📸

The story they ran was that Joe had grown a potato that weighed 86 lbs 10 oz (39 kg) and they had the photo to prove it. ðŸ¥”

In 1895, without the aid of Photoshop, they blew up the photo of a regular potato and then took another photo with Joe carrying this massive spud on his shoulder.

What was supposed to be only a local hoax got out of control when Scientific American picked up the story and ran with it even including dimensions in their article.

Of course, S.A. did realise their error and printed a retraction, but it was too late, the story had gone national.

Poor Joe was swamped with requests for viewings, eventually telling people it had been stolen.

Didn't help much though he was still getting requests for seeds for years afterwards.

Getting requests for products you created years earlier is excellent when you have something to sell.

The P.S. will show you how to make sure you do get those requests.

Brent.

P.S. I am of course talking about Evergreen Links.

The problem with a dynamic Internet and one which never forgets is that something you posted years ago is still alive.

When this web property gets found, any links had better work

There is nothing worse than finding a goldmine of information with dead links.

For me, the visitor, I don't get to buy the product.

For you, the vendor, you don't get to gain a profit or a customer.

What's the solution?

Evergreen Links.

Years ago, I was told that I needed to control my links, and I have tried to do so ever since in multiple ways.

Not all of them worked as well as I wanted.

But, over the years, I have refined the process to what it is today.

If you use links to any sales page or product, yours or as an affiliate, you need to have control over your links.

The beauty of this system is that it works as a basic tracking script as well.

Check it out here.
