You know that in the bricks and mortar world of business, around half new start-ups fail in the first five years, and of those around a third make it to ten years. 📉

In the online world, the statistics are far worse.

Most of those who start don't do sufficient homework before they start, and then they don't treat what they are doing as a business.

What this means is that you can fiddle around with Internet Marketing for years without any ongoing success and occasionally make a sale or two.

They build nothing sustainable and don't make enough to cover their costs.

I know, I did that for years myself.

You can learn a lot, but 'book learning' is not knowing.

Knowing is when you apply the book learning.

Admiral Stockdale has said that those who didn't survive being a POW were the optimists.

Those who did survive were those who didn't give up, in his words:-

'This is a very important lesson. You must never confuse faith that you will prevail in the end—which you can never afford to lose—with the discipline to confront the most brutal facts of your current reality, whatever they might be.'

To survive the rigours and brutality of an online existence, you must have faith that you will be able to achieve the success you desire.

One way to do that is to follow a process every day that will take you to your goal.

By following the process and not focussing on the current results, you will get where you want to be.

Brent.

P.S. There is still a lot of uncertainty in the world.

That translates into a lot of uncertainty for you in your future.

I got inoculated against trusting in having a boss years ago.

Over my working life, I have been fired three times and 'let go' twice.

Each time it was because I didn't take what I was told as gospel.

Apparently, you are not allowed to question decisions that you think will be detrimental to the company.

Incidentally, I was right each time.

One of the companies went bankrupt, and the others suffered significant setbacks.

None of those got me my job back.

Anyway, I learned to rely on myself for my living which I have done ever since the last one.

Some of you are in the position of being out of work.

Some of you may never get that job back, and some won't ever get another job either.

I'm not trying to shoot you down here.

I'm just trying to point out the potentially harsh reality that faces some of you.

You have my sympathies, and I'm suggesting that you need to take matters into your own hands now.

The simplest way to begin to make some money online is via affiliate marketing because all you really have to do is drive traffic.

I've talked about traffic before and how there is no limit to the traffic you can deliver wherever you want.

When you repurpose content from wherever you get it you can generate backlinks and traffic from multiple free sources.

What you do need to do is control your links so you can redirect that traffic to another sales page if you need to.

Here is a great way to set yourself up to control those links.
