I trust you managed to chew a bit of elephant yesterday when you didn't have another bite to eat. Today it's about the process to follow. To complete any project, you only need to know what steps to take every day to reach your goal. 💡 I've talked about this before, but a quick recap is in order.
When you set a target to achieve, you know that it's out of reach immediately, so you break that goal down into progress steps to be able to measure how you are doing. You break each of those steps down further and further until you have something you can do in one day, even if you only have an hour to work on your project. In this way you break a massive goal down to easily achievable daily tasks knowing every task you complete is one step closer to your goal. Those daily tasks are the process you follow, and the only things you need to focus on.
Today's bite is to set the goal and break it down to daily steps. Set up a calendar if you like and cross off each day that you eat a bit of elephant. Make sure you don't miss two working days in a row and make sure you don't work seven days a week. We all need to take a break so we can work fresh. My calendar has the weekends blocked off for family time and other things.
Regards,
P.S. I was thinking of putting all of this into a booklet. Would any of you be interested in a copy should I actually manage to take the time to write it? I would expand on some of the concepts I've just gone through in the last four emails and include examples. Email me by replying to this one to let me know, and you can include suggestions of where you think I need to expand on what I've written.
Here's a simple project for you that you can use to test the "Elephant Eating for Beginners" system. Learn to write little books. These are ten pages or less, probably fewer words that I wrote for this email series. Could take you about an hour to write if you have prepared beforehand. Here's the challenge.
Write five tiny books and upload them to the Kindle marketplace. You could do this in a week if you set your mind to it.
Here's how you do that. |
