In this email I will share with you a couple of things that very few people know. These are so valuable that I probably should sell them to you rather than give them away for two reasons.
What I'm about to tell you may seem simplistic, but I can assure you that I have never seen anyone else talk about these anywhere for free or in a paid product.
You may know that Article marketing was once an excellent way to get visitors to whatever site you wanted and that the number of visitors was mostly determined by two things, the quality of the article and the number of articles you had online. Because of this the spammers hit the article sites and flooded them with poor quality articles linked to attack sites, viagara sites and many other crap sites. Google took action and downrated the article sites so they don't have the same impact as they once had, they still work though. This email is not about article sites as they once existed, but I am talking about article marketing. I'm suggesting that you still write your articles, buy PLR articles or have them written for you. The difference is that you publish them as PDFs and other document formats and submit them to the sites that distribute them.
Now that's all very well and you can have affiliate links in those PDFs and documents but there is a flaw in there that some of you will spot. You have no idea which of those sites drives the buyer traffic to your affiliate links and you need to know that so you don't waste time on sites that don't convert. What you need to know is how many times the document has been viewed and how many clicks you got from that so you need to be able to track that. You can, I use ClickMagick for most of my tracking and have played with a free tracking service at ClickerVolt which may or may not be working. There is another free service at PrettyLinks that I have used extensively as well. Free trackers are fine except they don't have the granular abilities of a professional tracking service, but they are a good way to start. Every link you have should be tracked. All of the above is overview, here is the secret squirrel stuff. You can put your tracking links in your PDFs and other documents and the clicks get tracked but you can't track the opens from that. However, if you put a very small image at the bottom of your pdf and use an external tracking link as the image source you will get a hit everyime the PDF or document is opened. This is not a hyperlink on the image, it's the image source file link - except there is no image to load. You can also add parameters to that link which will be reflected in your tracking tool.
Regards,
P.S. Tips like these are inside the 10 Micro-Models PDF and the monthly newsletter that is the OTO behind it. I doubt that you do want to miss out on those take a closer look now. |
