The answer to that question is yes.

You don't even need your own domain name, but it is sometimes easier if you do have one or both of those things.

The other question I get asked is "Do I have to have an autoresponder"?

The answer is, "Only if you want a reliable income from your efforts".

The reason for that is that, at best, only about 1% of cold visitors to a sales page will buy.  When you have an autoresponder you can send follow-up emails to those who are interested.

Just like I'm doing here.

You can also offer related products to that group of people.

Which I often do, but only where those related products can help you get better results.

What that means for you is that you do need to have an autoresponder, there are some free, for a limited time or limited activity, but most require payament as you grow.
