One of the problems of setting up a new site is that you are never quite sure which keywords you should target. Most of us know that the data supplied by all of the keyword tools, including the Google keyword tool, give inaccurate results. One way to check those keywords is to set up a single landing page for each keyword and then run Google or Bing ads for each keyword that points to that page. Then run your ads, you'll quickly see which keywords get searched, in what volume and if those searchers will click through. But that costs money and doesn't show you if you can rank a page on that keyword. But what's the alternative? Well, it's nearly same except you don't spend any money. It is a little slower, but it's more accurate regarding ranking. You still build a single page for each keyword, but you post it on a Blogger blog. Then you monitor the traffic to get, and you can track your ranking with any number of free tools, or you can do it manually for each keyword. The beauty of doing it this way is that Google will index your page nearly before you finish publishing it. With a great keyword, you could have visitors within minutes, yes it can happen that fast. One I did this week got 84 visitors in the first 24 hours. No backlinks. A blogger blog is free, and you can use your existing Google account to set it up. If you put Adsense on it or Amazon ads, you could be generating some income in a matter of hours. Go for it. You have the time. Regards, Brent. P.S. I got an email letting me know that yesterday's email was a little confusing, the little rascals were pre-school age children in both cases. Thanks Britt. Now that you know how to test your keywords you might like to have a look at something that you can build sites for. A couple of the Alchemy methods would be suitable for that, but that's not what I'm offering today. Today I'm going to point you back to the Gumroad PDF on 23 ways to make money online without expensive tools. Pretty straight forward, I think. I'm channelling Yoda now — "Do or do not do; there is no try." |
