tl:dr; Get Society11 membership here. It's not enough to have a website even if you have good content and a great product so sell. If you don't get visitors, you don't get sales. Everybody knows that. But most of us are not super techy so we need help. That's where WordPress comes in. The people behind WordPress, Automattic, have gone to great lengths to provide a tool that can do almost anything when it comes to building a website. Add in the Themes and Plugins from hundreds of independent developers and you have something amazing. Unfortunately, you also have something that's been getting more and more complex as the years have passed but it hasn't slowed them down. Currently, about 60 million of the world's websites run on WordPress with over 54,000 more being added each day. But, WordPress has some vulnerabilities and the hackers are searching for more every day. This means that you need to make sure everything is kept up to date and that you are using the current best practices to keep your website safe. I use the Wordfence plugin to protect my sites and it works extremely well. I use InfinitWP to keep them up to date. I always change the username to something other than admin but I use Admin as my Nickname, helps to slow down any attackers. Regards, Brent. P.S. Yesterday, as it will be when you read this, the owners of Society11 added over 260 WordPress training videos for members to use at no additional charge. These are 2019 versions of stuff you can find online in prices ranging from free to $200 or $50/month. None of the other sites I found had more than 20-40 videos for those prices either so this is an absolute bargain. Their access fee would be worth it if it was only for these videos but you get so much more as I have pointed out in the last couple of emails. They ran a training today on how to turn an image of a person, animal or cartoon character into a talking avatar for a video with full lip-syncing to the text or audio that you provide. It does use another program but they also tell you how to get it at a discount price. I've seen people charging for that sort of information and then taking a commission on the sale of the product. Not these two, it was just an unplanned bonus. Paid for this months subscription in savings. |
