And I agreed with him.

This statement is from a discussion I had with a solo ad seller who wants me to buy some traffic from him.

I countered with, "There's no more sense in buying clicks that don't result in sales either".

Both of us are right.

From his perspective, though, the issue isn't whether his traffic is good or not.

It's whether my funnel is good or not.

If the statement that "any sales page is only about 100 tweaks away from its best conversions" is true, then buying traffic to test that could be expensive.

More so if your autoresponder insists that you only use double opt-in subscribers.

If they won't open a confirmation email and click on the link, they probably won't open any of your other emails either.

If you have an email list already or you have experience in making sales online, then your first effort for each funnel will probably get you some conversions.

If you don't have a ready supply of visitors or know how to set a funnel up, you will need a cheap way to generate the visitors to begin split testing your funnel.

One way is video, and another is document sharing.

These are not the only ways to generate traffic, and they do require effort to create enough traffic for testing purposes.

In general, you'll need 200 visitors to your split test to be able to identify which one gets to be the control for the next split test.

Rough numbers would be 100 visitors to each landing page for 50% - 70% sign-ups, which puts 100 - 140 views of the offer page, resulting in 1 - 5 sales at best.

These numbers are not guaranteed. You may not make any sales, your confirmed sign-ups could be 20% or fewer.

However, when you manage to get a positive ROI, you can spend whatever you like on buying traffic, even if you are only getting a $1.50 return for every $1 spent.

Tracking and testing are the secrets to all profitable funnels and all the income generated online.

P.S.  I've been talking about the free autoresponder in the LeadsLeap members' area, and I mentioned the landing page builder.

I haven't mentioned their excellent tracking tool, also free, in the members' area.

I use and like ClickMagick, as you may know, I also have used ClickerVolt, which is a WordPress plugin, but I think that one is going to fail.

Unfortunately, the leading developer has passed away.

I've just started to test the LeadsLeap tracker, but it looks pretty good at the moment with some innovative ideas about identifying real visitors from fake visitors.
