You can't fix what you don't know is broken.

 

If you don't track your links, you don't know where the breakdown is.

All you know is that they may or may not be working.

If they are not working, you don't know where to start fixing them.

If they are working, you don't know if you can make them better.

 

It has been said that any sales page is about 100 tweaks away from optimised.

 

What many marketers either don't know or forget is that you make money when you ALL parts of the sales funnel are working correctly.

It's not just traffic. 

It's also clicks and conversions.

The landing page needs to match the traffic source.

The sales page needs to be congruent with the landing page.

The offer must be congruent with the lead magnet.

The follow-up email sequence needs to be congruent with the sales page and the offer.

 

The problem for all of us is that the things that are easy to measure might not be the things that matter and the things that matter may not be easy to measure.

 

One of the keys to being a successful marketer is thinking long term rather than on immediate sales, which is where most marketers focus.

Building that longer-term relationship with your readers is what will pay off for you over the life cycle of your subscribers.
