When your efforts to make money don't work, or don't work as fast as you think they should, many people grasp at straws.

I know I did for years.

The straw is seen as a saviour. 

It's the new system, the latest method, the new program, the latest fad, a different direction or even attending some big event in the hope of finding out the "one big secret" that will make everything work.

After all, if you aren't having the success that the last method promised there must be some other secret that "they" are not telling you, right?
 

Indeed, most of the shiny objects sold by the fake gurus do not tell you what they do.

Many of those methods, underground hacks etc. haven't even been tested by these conmen and they will not work for you or anyone else.

They do not use the things they sell you to make money themselves, no, they do email marketing and recruit affiliates to sell their products and make their money.
 

They sell you products they know won't work because they know you'll be back to buy their next product until you finally lose all hope or run out of money and quit.

They don't care if you spend the rest of your life feeling like a failure, they've got your money, and all they care about is keeping you buying.
 

This death spiral is the doom loop.
 

It's a whirlpool that will suck the life, hopes and dreams out of you.

You can break out off that loop today.

Commit to not buying anything that you cannot use right now to help you make money no matter how tempting or how "cheap" it is right now.

Whatever you buy must be able to be put into action immediately because you'll forget about it if you don't.

No matter how little it costs, it isn't cheap if you can't or don't use it.

You will have to spend some money on tools, hosting and domain names eventually but you do not need them to start.

You can't get a free domain name, but you don't need a domain name to start so skip that.

You don't really need a website, to begin with, but one can be helpful so here are some places you can get a free one:

Wordpress.com, blogspot.com, tumblr.com, wix.com, and others.

Now, I should tell you that these all limit you in some way and to get premium stuff you need to pay.

There are a couple of others where you have more flexibility upfront, and you can also buy premium stuff, but you'll probably never need to.

I prefer Awardspace, but the choice is yours.

You will need an autoresponder. That is not negotiable because building an email list is the key to your long-term success.

Fortunately, I have found an excellent starter autoresponder that has a decent amount of subscribers and email sends in their free plan.

You will need a payment processor, Paypal works fine, Stripe works well but is a bit more challenging to use.
 

You will probably need to use a URL shortener and some form of tracking, so you know what is working.

You can use Bit.ly, Google analytics or PrettyLinks. All their tracking is either delayed or quite limited. One I have been testing lately is ClickerVault https://link.wm-tips.com/clickervolt which is a WordPress plugin and has excellent tracking capability in their free version.

If you picked up the Affiliate Playbook, not free, you have everything you need to get started.

Follow those steps, set up 3 - 4 projects, and you'll quickly find at least one of those makes some money.

That's when testing and tweaking help you increase that income.

It's not hard to do; it just takes time and consistency.
