OK, lies might be a bit strong.
Let's call them potential future truths because they are not accurate now but could be in the future if the reader takes the suggested action.
All good to excellent sales letters, sales videos etc. are a mixture of truth, in the form of verifiable or well-known facts, and lies.
When you mix facts that the reader already knows or can easily verify with potential truths, the potential becomes more believable.
Facts are data, numbers, proof, demonstrations or verifiable statements from reputable people.
Potential truths include manufactured scarcity and urgency, emotional appeals, rigged comparisons, exaggerated contrasts, envisioned future outcomes.
We mix these to show the promise of their problem being solved, which is not true; it's only a potential until they grasp the same vision and take action.
Once they share the vision and purchase the solution we offer, then perhaps the shared vision becomes a reality.
While you believe that what you offer will help the reader solve their problem, there is nothing unethical about doing your best to get them to purchase.
Regards
P.S. I only make offers in this P.S. to products that I use and like or products that I have created because so much of the other stuff I get offered is rubbish and I refuse to inflict them on you.
I would probably make more money if I did offer all the crap available, but I don't think I could sleep well at night.
I don't have a link for you today as I'm working on a new product I want you to test for me.
There will be a link for you tomorrow. |
