"It was once said that the moral test of government is how that government treats those who are in the dawn of life, the children; those who are in the twilight of life, the elderly; and those who are in the shadows of life, the sick, the needy and the handicapped."

Hubert H. Humphrey

I would not have thought that this man was once the Vice-President of the USA due to the way the USA in general treats people over health, poverty, joblessness etc.

Perhaps I do not understand how the USA system works.

Here in Australia, we do have a public national health care system and a private health care system.

We have financial support for the jobless that can go on for many years.

We have financial support for disabled people with no time limits.

We have retirement and nursing homes for the elderly that are funded on a pay what you can basis and government support.

I know that not all countries have these things, but I believe that those who can afford to should help subsidise those who cannot.

This means that there isn't a first-world country who could not provide these essential services for those who are unable to look after themselves.

Yes, some take advantage of the system, but it's very few compared to the numbers who need the support.

Yes, we do still have people who live on the streets, some by choice and some due to great misfortune but none of them has no other option.

Yes, there are always some who slip through the cracks, but our services do their best to prevent that.

Unfortunately, it seems that this pandemic is creating a massive financial burden on countries everywhere that may take years to remove.

The danger is that the people who will suffer the rebuilding most will be those who can least afford it.

In countries that were already struggling with a debt burden may never get out of the hole.

I don't know what the world will look like next year, no-one does, but I doubt it will look anything like last year.

Now is the time to build your financial reserves and your second income stream, you'll never get a better chance.

Regards,

Brent.

P.S. If you've ever thought of writing a book, this is an ideal time to settle in and write.

What else are you going to do?

You've probably read quite a few books where you have said to yourself "I can write a better book than that" and you are right, you can.

I bought one a few years back that was so bad I checked the author out.

I was gobsmacked when I discovered that he was an English teacher in a High School.

I was delighted that I wasn't one of his students.

Anyway, go here to find out how to write a book in 24 hours.
