Let's start with an overview of how everyone makes money online or offline.

All businesses have a product or service to sell. That's how they make their income.

All businesses need customers to buy their products or services, or they're not in business.

All businesses need people to see their offers. They don't become customers randomly.

All businesses need some sort of traffic (visitors) to see their offers.

OK, on the Internet, there are three types of traffic.

  • Traffic you own.
  • Traffic you control.
  • Traffic you don't own or control.

Starting with the third one first.

This type of traffic comes from searches, links on other people's websites, YouTube, Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter, and all the other myriad of sites that people go to where they might find a link to your site.

This is random traffic and, while it could be a high volume, it's generally pretty un-targeted and usually doesn't convert to customers quickly.

The second type of traffic is the traffic you control. This type responds to either free or paid advertising, usually paid, on a platform that someone else manages.

This traffic is much better targeted to your offer and converts to customers more quickly.

The best type of traffic is the first one, your email list.

You control this traffic with the emails you send to them.

These people are usually much better engaged with you, and what you offer, they are far more likely to become customers.

This means that you need to find ways to generate your email list and send them emails regularly if you wish to have consistent income from your efforts on the Internet.

Don't be like me. I resisted this for years because I was stupid and didn't really understand the value of an email list.

Yes, email is still the best way to manage your traffic to any website or promotion, even in 2021 and probably will be for years to come.

Brent.

P.S.  One thing that held me back was not knowing what I was going to write in each email I would have to send.

You may have noticed that I haven't had that problem for years even though I write an email 6 days a week.

This book wasn't available when I started writing emails, I wish it had been as I probably would have started building this list of subscribers earlier and have a bigger list.

Still, it's available for you and it's dirt cheap, grab it from Amazon now.
