I was living in Darwin in December 1974 when Cyclone Tracy decided to drop in.
If you have been inside a cyclone or tornado, you will understand how loud they can be.
The roaring of the wind sounds like a freight train coming through your home.
There are crashing noises from loose material crashing into your home, and then more cracking and tearing noises as some material is torn loose from your house only to bash into someone else's home.
The rain pounds down, actually that's not right, the rain pounds sideways.
On this particular night, as the wind speed slowed down to storm strength, I crawled into the bath to get some sleep.
Baths are not comfortable things to sleep in, but it was the only dry part of the house.
My bedroom had someone's roof beam in it.
That had arrived just as I closed the door when I left the room.
I was getting wet in bed from the rain pounding on the louvre windows.
I still get a little twitchy when I hear warning sirens and the sound of iron roofing dragging on concrete or bitumen roads.
They say that what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.
I'm not sure that I agree with that statement and would prefer to not go through another experience like that.
Have you been through a cyclone or tornado?
Regards,
P.S. It seems that I went out of my way to prove that mistakes are not the end of the world.
There was a link at the end of the P.S. as usual in yesterday's email, but it wasn't a clickable link.
Were you the one who figured it out and did a copy past with the link to see where it went?
Well done.
The link is to a great product that can create breathtaking animations in 3 clicks with the world's easiest full-auto video animation software.
You can create studio-grade intros, outros, CTAs, logo stings, social actions, and pure live-action magic.
All done in the cloud so that you can create from anywhere.
