The incredibly complex security protocols that sites seem to delight in currently make the end-user jump through hoops to log into their accounts.

You've probably noticed it as well.

Complicated captchas where you can't tell if it's a capital letter or not, if it's an a or a g, a v or a y, an O or a 0, a B or an 8, etc.

In part because they have screwed up the sizes, or they have a reflection or lines through the image.

And then there is the "pick all images with a bus", and there are nine images with traffic where three have a bus clearly visible.

But what about that?

Is that a bus or not?

USA buses, shops, and other things look different to Australian ones.

What brought this rant on?

I need to log into my Amazon AWS account, but I have changed my mobile phone, and I have been using the 2FA login because they insisted on it.

The problem is that the system for resetting the 2FA doesn't work so, after about 4 hours of trying, I have contacted support, who will probably call me on the telephone at about 3 AM.

I have been playing the round-robin of continually logging in as I go from one page to the next until the system says, "Sorry, that failed."

Yep, I'm feeling pretty frustrated about now.

Regards,
Brent.

P.S.  One thing I'm not frustrated with is my email service.

You may notice that I have changed the reply email address, it won't make any difference to how I respond, but I'm hoping it will reduce the spam score I'm currently getting.

SpamAssassin thinks the email address I was using is a free email service, it's not, and it hasn't been for about five years now, but they seem incapable of recognising that despite multiple emails to their support desk.

One other thing I'm not frustrated with is Frase.

I will be writing a lot more web content, and this tool will help me do that faster and more accurately.

By now, you'll be looking for the link https://go.wm-tips.com/frase.
