Borrowing from the book Atomic Habits, the best way to develop the habits you need to get your business running smoothly is to link the desired behaviour to something you already do.

For example, if you like a morning coffee, and you want to get inspiration for your next email, you can do your research while you drink your coffee, but then you need to stop reading and write the email.

What you say to yourself is "when I finish my coffee, I'll write the subject line for my email."

What this does is link the end of the coffee to the start of the email.

You can do this with all of the activities you need in your business and setting these steps up in a way that sets your business in motion.

This is called momentum and handled correctly sets your business up for effortless growth.

It's very easy to get this wrong, so please read the following carefully and pay attention to the details. Borrowing from Mark Twain, the difference between getting this right and getting it almost right is the difference between the lightning bug and lightning.

To create real momentum in your business, where one step leads invariably to the next, where effort decreases and results increase over time, you need to build your own unique 'flywheel'.

What's a flywheel?

In this video, you can see a person starting the engine of a WWII German tank by turning a flywheel. Notice how difficult and slow the work is at first and how quickly momentum builds until the crank turns effortlessly and starts the tank's engine.

For your business, it's about each part of your business drawing you into the next part unavoidably.

If you want to see examples, I recommended picking up Turning the Flywheel (it's a quick read: just 44 pages).

This can revolutionise your business by making it easier to run and more profitable, we all want that don't we?

Brent.

P.S. An essential part of ANY online marketing business is email.

No, email is not dead, despite what some people will try to tell you to sell you their new product.

One of the amusing things about these claims is that you'll mostly find out about them via email.

Even Facebook send you emails to tell you that someone has a birthday coming up or that you have had a new like etc.

Clearly, when even the biggest social media company in the world uses email, it must still be effective, right?

If it's good enough for them, it must be good enough for you and me.

Do you use email already?

Good for you if you do.

If not, have a look at this training which will show you, step-by-step, how to set up your super-responsive email list.

The training module was written by one of the best email marketers I know, and he spills the beans so completely you'll find it a doddle to copy what he does.

You could have subscribers before next weekend.
