Most of us, even those who work at home, ease into our workday.
We start with a coffee, read our emails (and sometimes answer a few), read the news headlines (and get sucked into reading whole articles), and then look at our stats before we start to think about what we should do next.
This behaviour is soft procrastination where we are not doing anything other than making out to ourselves that we are.
It appears that those super-successful people do not use to-do lists.
They put what they need to do in their calendars instead so the item has a time scheduled and a time frame for completion.
But, here is the one question that can make you even more productive.
"What do I have to get done by 10:30 AM"?
Why this question?
Simples.
Assume that the power is going off at 10:30 AM and you will not be able to do anything else for the rest of the day.
What is the most important thing you have to get done before you have to stop working for the day?
Here is where you shuffle the things around in your calendar to complete the essential tasks by 10:30 AM.
Super-successful people do not have more time in their day than you.
They do not have any more extraordinary ability than you.
They didn't start with more money than you, most of them anyway.
Nope, all of them have more persistence than you are currently using.
Most of them are better at getting things done than you but no longer because you now know their secret.
Regards,
P.S. Yes I am just as guilty of this soft procrastination as you are.
Often the emails I write are written late at night and are probably not as good as they could be because of that.
It's also why I make mistakes from time to time with scheduling or stuffing up the link, etc.
My New Years Resolution is to begin doing the things I have been learning recently.
I want to write better emails, I want to produce better products for you, and I want to spend less time at the computer.
I will follow the steps in the report below because they work, I've used them before, but I don't use them all the time and I should.
If you want to improve your productivity this year, then this will help you. |
