There are many different sources of traffic for your affiliate sites or web site. You cannot use them all at once. You do need to focus on one source of traffic until you get it working for you and your product. But, you also need to make sure you pick the right source for your target market. This email is supposed to be about using Twitter for traffic. Now there was one website where I used Twitter as the traffic source. Frankly, it was a wash. I had over 20,000 followers, there are techniques to gather followers, and I posted every day. Every post would get, maybe 20 visits to the web post. Failing is the inevitable byproduct of trying, at first. After a year of effort, I quit on that project, by the way, that was stupid. Since then, I have learned that I posted at the wrong time of day. I live in Australia, the bulk of my tweets were posted in the early evening, which meant that most of my followers wouldn't see them at all since they were on the top of their timeline at between 1 & 2 AM. That gave those tweets plenty of time to be buried under the bombardment of other tweets. Regardless of where you live, you have to take into account that most of your target market will be in the USA unless you are specifically targeting your local people. What this means that for any marketing you do by email should hit their inbox when they are most likely to see it, the tweets have to hit their timeline when they are likely to be checking them etc. That seems so bleeding obvious now. Now I send these emails out at 9 AM ACDT, and they hit the inboxes in the USA in the late afternoon. I can see that often those emails are opened as soon as they hit the inbox, but that may not be the optimum time. I think that consistency is as important as time so I'll be sticking with this schedule for now. By the way, if you want to use Twitter as a traffic source, you will need to send about eight tweets per day to get any traction. Once a day is not enough. Regards, P.S. I was going to add a link to a video here about how to set up a landing page and an affiliate funnel with free tools and no hosting, but I've been working all day at our daughter's house clearing some structures in preparation for an extensive garden make-over. I didn't get time to make the video yet. I'll have that ready for you possibly tomorrow, depending on the extra work that I need to complete. In the meantime, you will need to be doing the excellent 5-day training on how to write reviews. You'll need to be able to do those quickly. You'll love the way this all goes together and how easy it is right on your desktop. |
