Most people think that whatever output a computer gives you is the right answer. This is not always the case. If you are not a programmer, you may find this surprising. Computers are stupid. All they do is add ones and zeros very fast. It's up to the programmer to make sense of the input and output. But, programmers are human, and they make mistakes. They make assumptions on how to interpret the inputs and manipulate them to give an expected output. Some types of programs are more likely to be accurate than others. A program that makes mathematical or arithmetic calculations that can be confirmed manually will be accurate and can use any relevant inputs to give a correct and reliable output. Where it gets dodgy is where the output is not predetermined. These are the programs they use when they are doing computer modelling. Often these programs take multiple inputs with a range of possible values. That means that there must be an extensive range of possible results. The biggest issue is that the programmer has to make assumptions on the weighting to apply to each input. The second most significant issue is that if the output looks reasonable, it will probably be accepted because there is no way to know if it is wrong or not. With any calculation, the result is only as good as the least accurate value. Typically, the output used from computer modelling is the one that the person who was doing the modelling wants. They will never tell you about the other hundred or thousand results that don't fit their agenda. Keep this in mind next time you hear someone talking about the results of their computer modelling. Regards, Brent. P.S. Every computer program you use has bugs unless it is a very simple one. Mostly you'll never find the bugs that still exist because all the easy to find ones have been fixed. The tools you use every day to grow your business will be more than adequate for your purposes, so you are safe to rely on them. More importantly, you need to rely on yourself. By following a simple process to build your business, you can ensure that you can still provide for your family with or without tools. The simplest thing you can do to make sure that you can keep doing what you are doing is to write. The hardest thing for most writers is getting hit with writers' block where you stare at a blank page, and nothing happens. I've been there. Most people who write for a living have been there. It's a right bastard when it happens, and I was fortunate to find a solution, and I have never had an issue since. This is the free solution that I found https://go.wm-tips.com/writers. |
