If you want people to read your content and share it, you must write good content in the first place.

But, to write good content you have to do good research first.

Researching the topic should not be difficult.

Google what it is about, utilise the resources that you have and make sure you understand what the content is supposed to achieve. Do you want the readers to take some action? Write to draw them into taking the action you want as if it is the natural progression from the content.

Understanding the subject matter is almost as important as understanding what it's for, and tailoring your writing to meet those goals.

Keep the tone and style consistent with the site the content is going on. When the style or tone clashes with the existing content, the resultant jarring with the reader will limit the effectiveness of the article.

How do you research when you write about a topic with little prior knowledge?

Treat it like a completely new learning experience.

The more you learn about any subject, the better able you are to write as an expert.

When you dive deep and tease out the things that people can relate to, writing interesting articles becomes much more manageable.

By the end of the article, you will know enough to bring it up in casual conversation and be able to discuss it with someone who is an expert without sounding like a dick.

Maximising the main keywords.

Searching BuzzSumo for the top articles for each of your main keywords will provide you with masses of content that you can use for research that you know the readers like and share. You cannot copy this content, but you can copy the ideas.

You can also use any keywords via Ahrefs and perform competitor analyses to gain further insights, as well as capture some potential longtail keywords.

Conclusion:

Writing good content demands good research. Gaining in-depth insights will help your content be readable, enjoyable and shareable. How will you use these research tips?

P.S.  I know that some of you who read my emails already have an income form the work you do online. I also know that some of you are still searching for something that works for you.

Not everyone finds their income stream quickly, and that's OK, I'll keep offering you simple things you can do that will make some money.

But, the only way you'll find out what works for you is to try them out.

This doesn't mean writing one blog post, buying one set of 100 clicks for a solo ad or writing one book and uploading it to Amazon.

Any of those might work if you are extremely lucky, but probably not.

What you need to do is try the same method perhaps up to 5 times before you can say it doesn't work for you.

That doesn't mean that the method doesn't work, it just means that it didn't work for the traffic sources you tried or even that the competition was fierce or perhaps the target group are not motivated enough to buy your offer.

Giving up is not an option for most of us.

This method is fast and free to set up. It will not create a high income for you, but it can provide you with a steady stream of cash-flow without being hands-on.

In this email only it comes at no cost.
