Who would have thought that there would be so many people moving around that the caravan parks would be full? I certainly didn't. We couldn't get into Wilpena Pound caravan park or the next closest, Rawnsley Park Station, so we are at Hawker. All that really means is that we have to drive an hour before we can do anything in Wilpena Pound. This caravan park is also filling up with the overflow from the others.
I suspect that all of those people who would usually be scattered through Northern Australia at this time of year are travelling as much as they can and as far as they can, but that limits them to South Australia.
It doesn't matter to me, and it's great for all the small towns and their businesses. The local economies are doing nicely thank you, so much so that we have seen many ads for workers.
When you think about that situation, it becomes clear that any business can thrive if they can attract enough customers. They still need to offer what the customers want, but their cash-flow and profitability are controlled by the number of buyers they can attract.
Any business on the Internet can find buyers for their products; all they have to do is work out where those buyers gather to discuss their particular hobby, join in and then offer them a solution to a problem they share.
