In my last email, I told you that you need to clearly define who your ideal customer is.

But that’s the problem, isn’t it?

Even when you know what you need to do sometimes the how is the challenge.

That’s what this email is about.

If you already have some customers you can find out a lot about them by using Facebook’s marketing tools and those customer’s email address.

If you don’t already have customers or you want to break into a new niche it gets a little harder.

You have to do a bit more research.

Fortunately, there are some great tools to help you out.

Firstly, find the websites who are already in that niche.

Plug that niche into alexa.com.

That will show you the basics of the group of people who are most likely to be your customer group.

But that is only the first step, don’t stop there.

Now you have some idea of the customer, go to Facebook’s marketing and develop the group from that starting point.

You should be able to find out more about your customer from the suggestions that Facebook will show you.

Now give them a name, find a photo that fits the age group, write up all the information on a single sheet and print it out.

Next time you need to create some content for your marketing efforts write it to that person.

You’ll get better results as you get better at writing to that person and as you get to know them better.

Regards,

Brent.

P.S. Tomorrow I'll give you another way to do this that is a twist on the way it's being taught.

Something that works brilliantly without doing a lot of the hard work required to build an accurate customer persona.

One of the things you do need to do is develop a negative customer persona.

Why?

Because who you don't want to do business with is as important as knowing who you do want to business with.

Something else that is just as important is to have people on your list or following you on social media who will never become customers.

I know that seems counter-intuitive but there are good reasons for that.

Read this article to find out if that makes sense.
