A quick update, everything appears to be healing nicely.

I'm moving my shoulder more and more each day, and I haven't had any painkillers for several weeks now.

I'm expecting the exercise bike to be on the weekend to begin rebuilding any lost fitness.

Thank you for your emails of encouragement and support

It is gratifying to discover that you do read my emails and perhaps even enjoy them.

Enough of that, though.

I have spent a fair bit of the downtime reading, and because I wasn't able to concentrate for much of that time, I've been reading light-weight stuff on the Kindle.

Several Jack Reacher novels and about six apocalypse bundles costing $0.99 each.

I am getting tired of zombies, though, except that today I found some philosophy that resonated with me that I need to share with you.

Yeah, I understand, "What a zombie novel taught me about marketing" might have been a better subject line.

  • Intention is a powerful thing, trust that things will work out.

Doing things with intent means that you know what to do, you know why you are doing it, and you know what result you expect from what you are doing.

  • Stop focussing on results, focus on intentions and actions, and most things will work out OK.

When we focus on results, we can quickly lose the motivation or discipline to keep doing what we know we need to do to get the result we desire when the results don't happen fast enough.

  • Nothing goes exactly as planned, but without action, there can be no reaction.

The military have an expression that means that all plans only last until the first contact with the enemy. It's the same in business, planning is essential and great, but you need to be flexible in the face of reality.  Circumstances change, sometimes rapidly.

  • Control is an illusion.

Anyone who has children know the truth of this, all we can do as parents is try to prepare our kids for what we know life is likely to throw at them. Did anyone think they had control of their lives in 2019? What about 2020?

Regards,
Brent.

P.S.  What are your thoughts on this?

Email me and let me know; I read all your emails and might even reply to some of them.

I'm trying something out today.

For your reading pleasure (no, not a zombie book), I have a PDF on 9 ways to boost your self-esteem.

The link is to a PDF that I added to my Evernote account, and you should get instant access to it.

If this doesn't work and you can't either read or download the PDF, please let me know.

I can't test this as the PDF resides on my desktop, so I cannot be sure that external access works.

Yes, that is a tracking link.

You should always track every link you have.
