I told you how to get content that you know Google likes and leverage that to traffic and rankings in my last email. Today, I have another sneaky and little known or used method of getting fresh content and getting traffic and rankings. You probably know about RSS feeds. A few years back, they were all the rage but have fallen out of favour mainly because people didn't know the best way to use them. Most people used RSS aggregator sites to add their RSS links, hoping that Google would reward them with a higher ranking. When that didn't happen, they quit bothering. There is a better way. You can use any RSS reader you like. There are plenty, but the one that I find works the best is https://feedly.com because it's also a feed search engine. You use it in a similar way to the Google Alerts trick. Plug in the keywords you want to track, choose from the sites the search brings back and let it run. Every day, log in, check the new results and decide how to use the content. You can curate it, rewrite it, spin it and turn it into a video, leave a comment etc. With fresh content to explore every day, you'll never be without something to write about, and what you write will be topical. Using both of these methods to plump up your blog, you'll naturally begin getting a better ranking, bringing more organic visitors and ultimately more income. Is this too simple for you? Is it too hard for you? You don't have to post to your blog every day, once a week is enough, but the organic reach will be slower. How long will this take? I don't know. I would expect that the more you do it, the faster you'll get, and in the end, you'll only spend a couple of hours a day. Regards,
The consistent application of writing a blog post will naturally improve your writing skill, but you may want to speed up your ability to write persuasively. If you would like to do that, I cannot recommend this 5-day course more highly. A professional writer has produced it specifically to help those who want to write better. While it is aimed at writing product reviews, you can easily tailor it for curating other people's content. Check it out here https://link.wm-tips.com/reviews. |
