It probably means that you're taking too long to get stuff done.

Fix it by moving faster.

Do the absolute necessities and leave out the fancy bits.

That bit that's holding you up probably doesn't belong in there anyway.

I spent years, yes, really years, creating a software tool to automatically update WordPress sites from your desktop.

The original software I wrote in Euphoria worked great but was only suitable for Windows P.C.s.

So I rewrote it in Python because it could be cross-platform.

Except, Python didn't compile well for any platform, and I felt that the end-users would struggle to install it.

I wrote it again in several other languages until I finally found one which automatically compiled for Windows, Linux and Macintosh.

By the time I had it working the way I wanted, it was too late.

WordPress now automatically updates itself, and there is no use case for my software.

I wasted years writing a program that even I don't use anymore.

I could have had a successful business selling to Windows users and ignoring the rest of the market.

Don't let this happen to you.

Take your product to market as soon as you have something functional.

You can add features to it later if you need to.

You can completely re-do it and re-release it as version 2.0.

This suggestion does not only apply to software.

It also applies to writing a blog post, creating a video, writing a book.

Publish your first draft, fix it later, or not.

If it needs lots of fixing, do a rewrite instead.

Get in the habit of writing fast and publishing.

You'll get better at writing first drafts and faster at getting projects done.

Try it.

Regards,
Brent.

P.S.  I practice what I talked about above.

Most of my emails are written in around 20 minutes as first drafts.

Grammarly helps me keep the spelling and grammar under control even though we don't always agree about some stuff.

I use Grammarly every day, not just for the emails but also for any other writing I do, as it catches my poor typing skills.

I have a Premium account because I occasionally use the plagiarism tool, and I write for others, but there are other benefits.

You can try out Grammarly for free https://go.wm-tips.com/grammarly.

There is a Chrome plugin you can use as well.
